Diagnostic criteria  (NCEP ATPIII report, 2001)
3 or more of the following:

fasting glucose > 6.1 mmol/L
triglycerides > 1.7 mmol/L
HDL  < 1.0 mmol/L (M)
          < 1.3 mmol/L (F)
Blood pressure > 130/85
Waist  > 102 cm (M)
            > 88 cm (F)

Acanthosis nigricans and skin tags
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
Sleep-disordered breathing
á crp (chronic low grade infection)
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
Childhood obesity
Hyperuricemia and gout
Microalbuminuria
